i am a huge film purist. reluctantly i agreed to buy a digital camera a few years back for my studio class; it seemed easier and cheaper than attempting to shoot everything with my medium format camera. in fact, i've decided that the only photographs that i'll present to the public as really and truly
mine are those i've shot with the hasselblad.
but recently i've started to embrace my own inherent aesthetic independent of fancy cameras and the absurd quality of medium format film. i've started taking pictures with my cell phone.
granted, they're not anything i'd put in a portfolio, but it's actually been really nice to have a means of capturing my life in the ways that most people do--quickly, without much thought or intention, in an almost gut-reaction to the momentary appeals of the world. here are a few:
on a plane.
old neighbor's house in austin
boone
austin
passion vine, austin
somewhere in west texas
town lake. or whatever that lake is downtown.
late night driving around austin
texas capital building
my front stoop, illumed
barton springs
neil looking sketchy.
sox at work. being her usual self
spencer, smoking as always
bored at the dmv
view of downtown from lamar bridge
going to try and update this more often. then again, i always say that. so, who knows.
